The
track biased 911 GT3 is a lightened and tuned version of the
RWD 911 Carrera. Body modifications include a larger front spoiler
and a twin-deck rear wing helping to keep the car firmly planted
to the road.
Stiffer suspension, re-tuned and larger brakes (carbon-ceramic
discs are optional), racing seats, wider and lighter wheels,
and lack of any sound deadening material are all features of
the 911 GT3. Air-conditioning and a stereo are optional extras,
but you will have to make do without power windows, a sunroof
and rear seats.
The 3.6 litre engine is a derivation of the race engine from
the 911 GT1 race car, it produces 380 bhp (output
was slightly lower pre-2004) and 285 lb-ft of torque.
