The
Porsche 924 Carrera GT was essentially a turbocharged
version of the 924 developed for racing. In order to comply
with the homologation regulations, the 924 Carrera GT was offered
in road car form as well, producing 210 and 245 hp (157 and
183 kW) respectively.
The Porsche 924 GT was identifiable from the standard 924 by
the bonnet mounted hood scoop, vented front bumper, flared wheel
arches and larger rear spoiler.
The Porsche 924 GT was powered by a turbocharged and intercooled
engine which offered 210bhp at 6,000rpm. Power was sent to the
rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox.
