The
2nd generation Porsche Boxster included both new aesthetics
and technical features. The nose featured a headlight redesign,
while the silhouette of the 2005 Boxster used even more muscular
lines, the new design used larger wheels, and a 280 bhp (206
kW) 3.2 litre engine.
Performance improved accordingly, the 2005 Boxster S takes 5.5
seconds to reach 60 mph, and has a top speed of 166 mph (268
km/h).
For 2005 the Porsche Boxster S came with a new six-speed, short
throw, manual gearbox.
The interior of the 2005 Boxster was also redesigned. The seats
were brand-new, and offered the buyer a choice of four different
variants ranging from the standard seats, to electrically adjustable
units complete with a lumbar support, leather sports seats and
adaptive sports seats offering individual adjustment of the
side supports on the seat bottom and backrest. Standard equiptment
on the 2005 Porsche Boxster included, Porsche Stability Management
(PSM), air conditioning, a CD-radio, and an on-board computer.
