The
2007 CTR3 from renowned Porsche tuners RUF is a bespoke supercar
built from steel, aluminium and carbon-Kevlar. The front structure
and passenger compartment of the CTR3 are formed from zinc dipped
steel, the body shell is a carbon-Kevlar composite structure,
the doors and bonnet are aluminium and the engine and transmission
are housed in a space frame and birdcage structure which also
features rollover protection as do the A-pillars.
Powering the RUF CTR 3 is a 3.8 litre, twin-turbo
boxer 6 cylinder engine developing a massive 700 horsepower
@ 7000 rpm and over 656 lb-ft of torque. Power is then run through
a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox to the 20" rear wheels
(up front are 19" units). All this gives the RUF CTR 3
a 0-60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds and a 235 mph top speed.
