The
SR08 is the product of Barcelona-based automotive company Sunred.
A prototype of the Sunred SR08 was unveiled at the 2007 Barcelona
motor show.
The SR08 is intended for use in FIA GT1 racing, and to homologate
the car for racing 10 road going cars will be produced.
The Sunred SR08 features a carbon fibre monocoque body measuring
5 m long by 105 cm high. Suspension is handled by adjustable
Ohlins shocks and the braking is done by carbon-ceramic 380mm
discs grabbed by six-piston calipers.
Power for the Sunred SR08 comes from a mid-mounted V10 engine
from Judd Engine Developments Ltd. based in the UK, this unit
develops around 500 horsepower. Sunred estimate this will give
the SR08 a 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a 186mph top
speed.
