Dirt bikes and snowmobiles,
despite their visible differences have many things in
common, most obvious is their ability to go where other
vehicles cannot. However each is usually confined to one
surface, either mud or snow. The RadiX kit from Idaho
based company 2Moto changes all that.
Essentially the kit can be fitted to a wide variety of
off-road bikes transforming them into a snow bike with
a track and ski instead of two wheels. Installation of
2Moto's kit takes roughly 2 - 2.5 hours.
The complete kit comprises of all the elements needed
to fully convert the bike, including a new swingarm designed
for the rigors of snow riding - 2Moto's swingarm is hand
crafted from 6061 T-6 aluminum and built specifically
to handle hard flat landings and deep snow. The track
was made for 2Moto by Camoplast and as such is ideally
suited for the job. Also included is a long travel Öhlins
suspension system with 10.5" of travel at the front
and 15" at the rear.
Up front the fork extension of the 2Moto Snow bike is
built using high grade 6061T-6 aluminum, formed and welded
into a box shell making it light and strong. It is easily
attached to the stock axle and brake mount and braced
on both forks. The ski can be adjusted to suit different
riding styles.
