The
BMW HP2 Megamoto shown at the 2006 Intermot Cologne Motorbike
and Scooter Fair was based on the 2005 BMW HP2. It effectivley turns the HP2 enduro bike into
a supermotard version.
The suspension of the HP2 Megamoto is taken care of with the
use of 45mm Marzocchi USD forks, and an Ohlins shock at the
rear. Compared to the HP2 enduro version the HP2 Megamoto has
a second brake disc, a new revcounter, a new headlight unit
and fuel tank made from carbon fibre, the high-level front mudguard
has been replaced with a much smaller snug fitting unit and
the seat height has been lowered. The prominent exhaust of the
BMW HP2 Megamoto is an Akrapovik, and the gear ratio has been
modified to provide more torque at lower rpms.
