The
Ducati Monster S4R is the top of the range Monster - the most
powerful, highest-performance Monster ever. It all starts with
the 996 cc Superbike engine and lightweight Superbike-derived
trellis
frame to ensure the perfect combination of power and handling.
A Showa fully adjustable front fork with low friction TiN treatment
and a fully adjustable Showa rear shock handle suspension duties.
The exclusive Ducati Superbike rising rate, ride height adjustable
rear suspension system includes a new single-sided aluminum
swingarm. An extraordinarily beautiful "two into one into
two" exhaust has been designed for the Monster S4R. With
both silencers positioned high and on the right side of the
bike, the system has an aggressive and powerful new look.
The 996 cc, liquid-cooled, Desmoquattro, fuel-injected, L-twin
engine is derived directly from the World Superbike champion
race bikes. With muscle to spare, the Monster S4R delivers tractable
power and torque
over the widest rpm range, so you are "on the gas sooner"
and shift less. A close-ratio gearbox just adds to the excitement
of the ride. 117 horsepower combined with the S4R's lightweight
of 181 kg/398 lbs results in an inspiring power-to-weight ratio.

The Monster S4R boasts a wide array of performance features.
Lightweight carbon
fiber front mudguard, side panels, radiator cover and belt
covers add to the race-inspired look of the motorcycle. A stylish
colour-matched fairing comes standard. And just to make sure
that your S4R remains yours, an electronic anti-theft immobilizer
system, activated by a "smart key," prevents anyone
but you from starting your bike. The Monster S4R sports Brembo
twin disc brakes: double 320 mm disc up front and a 245 mm disc
at the back. A fat 180/55 ZR 17 rear tyre and a 120/70 ZR 17
front tyre are mounted on super light Marchesini 5-spoke wheels.
Excellent ground clearance allows increased lean angles to take
advantage of the S4R's handling prowess. A variable cross-section
aluminum handlebar together with adjustable brake and clutch
levers ensure comfort and control. The Monster S4R is fitted
with rider and passenger-forged footrests, positioned for optimum
comfort, along with a lightweight aluminum side-stand. The footrests
have been narrowed and repositioned for improved comfort and
performance. The multi-functional electronic dashboard has been
given a new racing look with a black and white background.
The
Monster S4R is available in a new range of colours: solid glossy
black, and either blue, red or black, all with a white racing
stripe.
