                | At the 2010 DTM race in Shanghi, Audi took the opertunity to
unveil the Audi TT GT4 race car which is intended to extend
the company's new modular customer sport program from 2012 onward.

The Audi TT GT4, which was developed by the Technical Development
and the Production divisions as well as quattro GmbH, is based
on the roadgoing TT. The vehicle's platform is a motorsport
body with a roll-over cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank box
                  and further race modifications.

The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing are all derived
from those found on the production Audi
TT RS. The hood, doors and trunk lid are made of carbon
fiber reinforced plastic and the windows are Plexiglass.

So far Audi have kept quiet about most of the drivetrain details.
What they have said is that the TT GT4 is powered by a 340 horsepower
TFSI engine, and the car is also fitted with an S-tronic transmission
with a differential lock, a modified production suspension with
adjustable dampers, plus 9.5 x 18 inch light alloy wheels.

The Audi TT GT4 is planned to sell for about 120,000 euros.
Audi is not only targeting Europe but also the Asian market
                  with the new racer.
