The
Vauxhall VXR220 was a track orientated version of the already
blisteringly quick VX220
Turbo.
The engine of the VXR220 was tuned to give around 220 hp thanks
to reprogramed engine management software, a new turbo and a
new free-flow air filter.
The VXR220 also featured Lotus-style 16 in front wheels that
allowed the fitting of special Yokohama sports tires to gain
better road holding.
Only 65 examples of the Vauxhall VXR220 were produced, each
one features a dash mounted plaque displaying its production
number.
