A cross beam adapter is a device used in conjunction with a floor jack to elevate a vehicle up at the recommended lifting locations. Once the vehicle is jacked up, jack stands are placed under both sides of the crossbeam adapter. The floor jack can then be removed since the vehicle is now supported by the cross beam adapter which in turn is supported by the jack stands.
