A fret saw is a type of frame saw which is designed to make very fine and delicate cuts. Fret saws feature a high, bow-shaped frame which allows the blade a high degree of maneuverability. Due to their design fret saws are capable of cutting complicated curves and shapes.

The blades of a fret saw can be replaced quickly or easily once they are blunt, or if they snap. The blades can also be changed to suit the material which is being cut.
