A hose pinch is a special type of pliers, with smooth, rounded or swivelling jaws, which allows coolant and vacuum hoses to be squeezed shut and clamped. Some, such as the one illustrated here, have a ratchet mechanism to lock the handles in position. Hose pinch tools are designed for quick and simple use and to prevent damage to internal hose reinforcement.
