A hot air gun is an electrically powered tool which is very similar to a hair dryer - except that it produces considerably more heat. Hot Air Guns can be used for a variety of uses, but one of the most common jobs they are used for is heating up the adhesive glue used to mount badges and trim, prior to the badge/trim removal. Due to the considerable heat hot air guns can generate they can very quickly damage surfaces like plastic or rubber, and they can also cause paint to bubble and peel if used excessively.
