An oil drainer is a device which aids in the safe and clean removal of used oil from a vehicle. Most oil drainers consists of a funnel (often on a telescopic pipe) and a reservoir for holding the oil until it can be properly disposed of.

The oil drainer is positioned directly under the oil drain plug prior to its removal, as soon as the plug is taken out the oil pours into the funnel and down into the reservoir. Once all the oil is out the drain plug is reinserted and the oil drainer is wheeled away.
