A window holder kit consists of two pairs of suction cups. Each pair is connected via a small cable. The suction cups are attached to each side of the window with the wires looping over the metal window frame (when the car door is open). The window holder kit is designed to hold the window in position during maintenance of the winding mechanism and avoid damage to the glass.

A window holder kit is a specialist tool and unless you frequently work with windows it is rarely used. Alternatives to a window holder kit include strong adhesive tape or a very patient friend!
