For 2003, Lamborghini offered a 40th Anniversary, limited edition Murcielago alongside the standard model.

Mechanically almost identical to the standard Lamborghini Murcielago, the most visible difference of the 40th Anniversary model is the Verde Artemis (jade green) paintwork, the only color option available for the model. Other visual enhancements include a carbon fibre coating on the panel behind the small rear side windows, grey anthracite colored wheels, a redesigned exhaust, a plaque inside the rear window featuring the 40th Anniversary logo and production number (only 50 were produced).

The interior of the Lamborghini Murcielago 40th Anniversary has also been redesigned, the driver side is trimmed with Grigo Syrius (dark grey) perforated leather, while the passenger side is covered with smooth black leather.

All 50 of the Lamborghini Murcielago 40th anniversary models, when new, were priced around $18,000 (£10,000) higher than the standard Lamborghini Murcielago.

But at least you got a matching carbon fibre suitcase in the luggage compartment.
