The Lotus 340R was a special edition version of the Lotus Elise.
Just 340 examples of the 340R were built, and all were sold
before they were manufactured. The Lotus 340R uses a custom
built bodyshell with no roof and no doors. All 340 cars came
with a silver and black two-tone color scheme. Special 'A038R'
tyres were developed for the 340R in collaboration with Yokohama.
Power for the 340R comes from a tweaked version of the Rover
K-Series engine used in the regular Elise which produces 177
bhp (131 kW) as standard, or 190 bhp (142 kW) with optional
Lotus accessories.
