A hose pinchers are any device which is used to stop the flow of liquids, or gas through a hose. There are many different types of hose pinch, however pictured here is a screw-type set of hose pinchers. These work by screwing the wing nut to clamp the hose in the jaws of the tool.

Hose pinchers are a very effective and cheap way of closing a pipe temporarily during maintenance work on a related part. For example when changing a fuel filter the pipe either side can be shut off using hose pinchers.
