The
BMW Z4 M Roadster could either be described as either the
replacement to the Z3 M Roadster, the top of the line Z4 roadster, or the convertible version of the Z4 M Coupe. Whatever way you choose see it, the
Z4 M roadster is one of the purist, driver orientated roadsters
on the market today.
Powered by the M division's award winning 3.2 litre straight-six,
which develops 343 bhp and 269 lb-ft of torque, the Z4 M roadster
screams to 60 mph in just 5 seconds, going on to an electronically
limited 155 mph top speed. Power is transferred to the rear
wheels by a conventional 6 speed manual.
Standard to the Z4 M Roadster is a speed-sensitive variable
M differential lock from the BMW M3. This gives the car both superior driving stability
and optimum traction especially when accelerating out of a
bend. The M differential lock enables the experienced driver
to enhance the positive features of a rear-wheel layout to
an even higher standard. While in adverse road conditions
the system also gives the Z4 M Roadster improved traction
and stability.
The distinctive styling of the BMW Z4 M roadster is in no
great way different to the standard Z4. Some find the lines
to be awkward and overcomplicated, while others respect the
individuality this creates. Either way it gets looks.
